Come visit with Iditarod finisher Randy Cummins and discover why dog sledding is the official state sport. During your visit you will eperience the speed, power, and enthusiasm of the amazing Alaskan huskies that are the soul of this kennel. Your visit will include a ride through a birch and spruce forest with plenty of time to take pictures and meet the dogs. After the ride, enjoy an interactive discussion of the gear and tactics used during training and racing.

Summer Hours

Tours are available daily from mid-May to the end of September and by appointment in the winter.

10 am to 6 pm

Prices

$35.00 per person summer.

Tours include interactive gear displays, meeting the dogs, and a dog tour on a customized wheeled cart. Learn what it takes to get mushers and dogs ready for the race season.

Conveniently located at mile post 7.8 on the Talkeetna Spur Road on the way to Talkeetna, Huskytown Kennel is a great place to learn about Alaska's official sport. The town of Talkeetna was once a booming gold rush town, now more famous as the starting point for climbers attempting to summit Mt. McKinley. The town offers impressive views of the Alaska range, of which Denali, aka McKinley, North America's tallest peak, is the focal point.
